So Nice To Meet You

We're The Kennedy Hotel — a family-owned, retro-inspired boutique hotel in the heart of Tucson, Arizona. We do things a little differently here, and we think you'll love it.

Our Story

The Kennedy Hotel has been a cool, sunny stop in the Tucson desert since the early 1970s. Back then, a road trip out West meant a pool, a good night's sleep, and no place you had to be. Fifty years later, that easy feeling is still what we're all about. The Kennedy is owned and run by the Hunsaker family. We take care of the place the way you'd want a family to. We sweat the small stuff, we mean it when we say welcome, and we treat you like a guest, not a room number. In 2024, we renovated the entire hotel from the ground up. It's fresh, bright, and comfy now, but it still has that fun, old-school feel that made this desert stop worth it in the first place. Come rest easy. The desert's been waiting.

How The Kennedy Got Its Name

When he was nineteen, John F. Kennedy earned his first dollar on a ranch in the Arizona sun. He spent the summer herding cattle and building homes out of mud. He went home tan and tough, ready for football season. Years later, he came back out West. This time he came to heal a bad back he got while saving his crew during the war. The place he stayed had a little less dirt and grit, but the same warm desert sun. It was a time when families packed up their cars and drove to the desert to relax. The old Wild West had turned into a fun, stylish part of American life. That's the story we're named for: people heading out West to find their own warm, sunny escape, and finding it right here.

Renovated in 2024

In 2024, The Kennedy underwent a full renovation — from the rooms to the common areas — giving the property a fresh, vibrant look while honoring its retro roots. The result is a stay that feels brand new without losing its unique character.
